Insurance primarily covers Deep TMS (dTMS) for the treatment of depression and OCD.

Conditions such as PTSD, fibromyalgia, and anxiety are specialized protocols and are not covered by insurance, and are available on a self-pay basis.

The appropriate system depends on the diagnosis, treatment target, comfort considerations, and individual treatment plan.
The electric field induced by H-Coils stimulates a larger volume of gray matter in the prefrontal cortex than figure-8 coils. This broader field may support treatment of depression-related brain regions.
Apollo’s figure-8 coil provides a more focused field and can be positioned over specific treatment targets. The clinical team selects between broader and more focused stimulation according to the protocol.

Neither targeting method is automatically appropriate for every patient. Device selection depends on the condition and the area the clinical team intends to address.
Most patients tolerate Deep TMS well, although comfort can vary according to the patient and device.
Because BrainsWay uses a helmet-style H-Coil, some patients who are prone to headaches or discomfort may instead be treated using Apollo. Patient comfort is one of the factors the clinical team considers when selecting a system and protocol.
Treatment schedules, session lengths, and the number of treatments vary according to the protocol and the patient’s individual treatment plan.
